This meeting covered a proposed schedule for upcoming events that are in the making. We also covered equipment and gear locker purchases to keep everything in good working order.
Purchases to be made: The following is a list of items we feel we need to keep everything in good condition and to keep the gear locker in order. - Pilot Chutes – We would like to have all the parachutes for the club to be either collapsible or non-collapsible and not a mix of the two. We are getting in touch with Sun Path for a quote on the non-collapsible pilot chutes meaning that everyone will need to pay attention to cocking the pilot chute when packing and everyone will need to make sure there’s “green in the window” during all gear checks.
- Pro Tec Liners – Our Pro Tec helmets are pretty worn out and the foam is in really bad condition on most of them. We are ordering new liners for all the old helmets.
- Goggles – We are ordering 6 pairs of new goggles for the club that should be more comfortable and should fit a little better.
- Slider Bumpers – Slider bumpers keep the lines from getting pinched between the slider grommets and the riser links. We are going to order several sets.
- Super Tac – This is waxed line used for various fixes on skydiving equipment. We are ordering 1 spool.
- Rubber Bands – These are being ordered so we have what we need in our gear locker and some to bring on skydiving trips.
- Velcro Wrist Straps – There are three old altimeters where the Velcro needs replacing.
- Stickers for altimeters - We are also looking into getting stickers for the GT altimeters to better keep track of them.
- New Lock – There is a new lock and shackle on the gear locker now.
Proposed Schedule: - February 9th – Eric Taylor is showing videos of PD Blue and possibly Deland Fire
- February 16th – Equipment care and knowledge course. (Jack Hammer from SDA may make a guest appearance)
- February 23rd – Info Session for anyone interested in skydiving!
- March 2nd – Water Training
- March 4th – Tandem Day for Georgia Tech
- April 8th and 9th – GT Skills camp (Spring Scramble)
Gear Policies: - You need to make sure you pay your dues, especially if you are planning to use club equipment. You cannot jump club equipment until you pay your dues.
- A new lock has been added so if you are planning on jumping with club equipment you must call Ben Lee at 404-272-1214 to get the combination and to cover club equipment care. This is a must!
- Make sure all equipment you used makes it back to the gear locker and that the locker is locked before you leave!!!
Movie Footage Needed: - Mark is currently working on a new video for the club so if you want to be in it then please get your footage to him soon. It can be digital or VHS.
Info Session and Tandem Day: - Keep recruiting, there are a good number of people who want to jump and just need to be asked. We will go over what to add to the website and how to advertise the club on campus so if you have ideas please bring them.
- We are going to get business cards printed and pass out flyers to advertise for the Tandem Day and Info Session.
