New Georgia Tech Sport Club Rules

A very important announcement coming from the sport club office needs to be understood by everyone in the club.  There is now a committee who's sole purpose is to check up on club and organization paperwork.  This means that I really need everyones USPA Member numbers and expiration dates as well as for everyone to sign a waiver.  If you haven't done this please do so or be ready to at the next meeting.  We also need everyone to pay dues before jumping club equipment.  This is very important because it shows that you have signed a waiver and understand the rules of the club before you jump.  The other new rule is that only club members registered for classes or recieving a paycheck from Georgia Tech are allowed to use club equipment.  This is not club property, it is Georgia Tech property so they get to make this rule.  This only came up because there were instances big enough to get the schools attention from other clubs so now we need to abide by them to keep our club out of trouble.

New Equipment Bill in the making

The club has been very fortunate in having as much equipment as we do to help get us further into the sport.  This equipment came to us through the hard work of those before us and has been acquired over many years now.  We currently have 9 rigs, 5 of which were manufactured in 1992 and 1993.  The rigs are showing some wear now and are getting close to needing replacement.  This meeting focused on laying out the groundwork to submit a bill for new AAD systems that are going out of date this year and for new containers for 5 of the older rigs.

SGA reserves a certain amount of money each year for clubs that have unexpected expenses pop up.  This is a very good way to go about recieving needed money to purchase this much needed equipment.  The plan is to get the bill finished by the end of this coming week and submitted for the following week.  This could be a 3 or 4 week process but will be well worth it if things work out for us.
