Meeting Minutes January 14, 2010 E-mail
Welcome to GTSPC's first meeting of the semester!

Club dues go to Melanie, and Travis will be changing the locker code this weekend. Get them in ASAP. Also, rigs 8 and 9 have been accounted for and will be back in action soon.

Club meetings will be at a different time this semester. They are tentatively set for Thursdays at 8PM.

Collegiates went well, and the 4-way team was four points off of the podium. Everyone had fun and came back safely. For anyone interested in doing freefly in the future, the competition has gone up way high, so think real hard about it. By the way, if you want to see what is possible in a college skydiving team, look at some of the videos available here. By the way, congratulate Travis for his final collegiates appearance. He gave a beautiful speech about how hard work will lead to success and he is willing to work with you if you're looking to compete next year. Really, it brought tears to my eyes.

Thank Santa, we might have some extra jump funds. Possible GT Skydiving weekend at the dropzone, soonish. Warning: it is cold. Gloves, and quite possibly glove liners, recommended.

Motion to put together a packet of "Standard Operating Procedures" for club gear use, mostly for safety concerns (refer to recent Javelin incident case, Travis's reserve ride). If you have any ideas for things that should be included, email Melanie. For issues concerned only with personal safety (ex. deployment altitude, RSL use, freeflying, video, wingsuit), we will not be dictating hard rules. However, we may choose to require a briefing with officers or S&TA. Next meeting will be next Thursday at 8PM. SDA is open Friday through Sunday. Blue Skies!
