Tunnel Camp was on October 14th and 15th and was a big success. Four of us were able to make the trip to SkyVenture in Orlando, FL and it was the first time in the tunnel for all of us. Ian Bobo was kind enough to grace us with his presence and, not to mention, the invaluable coaching he provided that helped us suprise ourselves with our new found flying abilities. What they say is true, every minute in the tunnel is worth two in the air. We were also accompanied by several Skydive Atlanta regulars working on everything from AFFI training to head-down. There was also the usual and expected shinnanigans that took place, both in the tunnel and out of the tunnel! Now for the fun stuff, the Atlanta FreeFly Festival at Skydive Atlanta Report! This year was another big one with plenty of people and fun for any skydiver. There was a Gravitron that may have not been the best idea for some of the more serious partiers and I'm sure they won't forget the experience. There was also a huge costume party and Georgia Tech brought home second place. Nikki Russell and Ben Lee were a Cutaway Handle and a Reserve D-Ring. Check out the pictures at www.SDApix.com.
I created the SDApix site per the request of Skydive Atlanta so that we can all share the crazy pictures that we have. Everyone is welcome to register for their own album and can post as much as they want. Have fun with it and start posting everything you can right away.
It's November and that means it's election time for the USPA again. Our club Rigger Mike Gruwell of Chuting Star Rigging Loft is running as a write in for Southeast Regional Director and is one of the best and most respected in the business. Check out his flyer posted on our website to see his platform. There is a ballot in this month's Parachutist, so take the extra five minutes to fill out the ballot and help Mike take on this important challenge.
