We had a great skydiving skills camp the weekend of September 23rd and 24th thanks to Kyle Collins and Eric Taylor. They weren't the only two there to help out. We also had Chris Golden, Gary Shaffer and Alan Fitzsimmons making jumps with us and giving us some much needed coaching. We also made a big push to get the gear up to date and safe and it came in handy for this camp. Each member participating was able to have their own rig for the day. We had 8 members participating and we were manifesting entire loads at a time. We would also like to thank all the other instructors that helped us tremendously that weekend. We hope to do this again soon, so keep checking back.
Another big event for us was our recent Water Training session at Georgia Tech's massive Rec Center (The CRC ... or SAC to the older folk). Gary Shaffer, who first joined the GTSPC in 1973, was the instructor and did a great job of covering the material. He then had us wear our jumpsuits for the dip. This gave us a more lifelike experience and each member appreciated it after hearing some of Gary's stories about off landings with big rounds. Gary has been a continuous help to the club and it's members since he started jumping at SDA. Thanks for all the help Gary!
There have been several webpage updates as well. Check out the Website Features page to see a list of most of the features. A couple to highlight are the new GTSPC CafePress Store with some pretty cool GT Skydive Merchandise and the new Donations link to donate to our webpage hosting costs. These donations are only applicable to the hosting costs through Dreamhost so you don't have to worry about that money going to the next Beer run. You can get to these through the links below ... yeah, we want to make it easy to spend money with us.

The annual FreeFlight Festival is going to take place at Skydive Atlanta November 2nd - 5th. This is something that you won't want to miss. So far the plan for aircraft is a Skyvan, a Super Otter, a Super King Air, and a Helicopter! Oh yeah, don't forget a costume. If you do, you WILL be the only person not dressed for the occasion.
