RSS Feed Help Page E-mail
RSS is a pretty new technology that helps you stay informed without having to visit every website regularly.  If you are new to RSS then hopefully this page will help you set it up pretty easily.  If you know more about it and you see or have any problems with the feeds then please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will try to fix it.

Create a Section - Search by topic or feed URL
Google left menu
An easy host to run your RSS homepage from is Google but you need a Gmail account to do so.  There is other software to use but you will have to search for it on the internet.  You may find a format that works better for you but for now we will go over Google's set up.  If you have a Gmail account then go to the Google homepage and click on the ‘Sign In’ link at the top right of the page.  You can sign in with your Gmail login and password.

Once you are signed in click on the 'Personalized Home' link in the top right corner, then on the ‘Add Content’ link at the top left of the page and a menu will appear on the left side.  The bottom topic on the menu is ‘Create a Section’ and has a text box under the direction ‘Search by topic or feed URL:’.  Remember this text box.

Syndicate on GT Home page
Syndicate Menu
Go back to the GT Skydive homepage and click on one of the RSS Feed links under the ‘Syndicate’ tab in the left menu (I think the ‘RSS 2.0’ works best but they all should work).  A window with a lot of xml code will pop up that you don’t need to worry about.  The important part is the web address, so highlight and copy the address.  You want to paste this link into the text box you were looking at before.  Click ‘Go’ and you should be all set.

Your Google personalized homepage will reset with the ‘GT Sport Parachute Club’ block on it.  If you click on the ‘edit’ tab you can change how many articles it will let you view the titles of.  This feed will update regularly to let you know if we have posted new front page articles.  Just click on the title and it will take you to the article on the site!

RSS also works for sites like CNN and the Weather.com site so you can play around with your personalized homepage.  You can even have your Gmail Inbox summary listed for easy viewing.
