 The Super King Air Our home drop zone is Skydive Atlanta in Thomaston, GA, and is only about one hour from Tech’s Campus. Skydive Atlanta is a very professional drop zone with safety as a first priority. They use Strong Enterprises Tandem Systems that have been proven the world over. Their instructors regularly go through re-currency training from the manufacturer and they stay up to date with all the latest safety information from the USPA (United States Parachute Association). The instruction for AFF and Tandem Progression is first rate with attention to detail.
Another big reason as to why we like Skydive Atlanta so much is their wide open landing areas. They have the most landing space in Georgia and it is all groomed grass. They have the fewest number of trees and obstacles in the landing area as well. This is one of the most important ingredients for continuously safe landings.
The hangar is also a huge benefit to a great skydiving experience. They have 15,000 square feet with carpeted packing areas, a separate packing room, a class room and we even have our own Georgia Tech team room and gear locker. The plane is a Super King Air that only takes 8 minutes to full jumping altitude and has a purple crushed velvet interior so you can do it all in style.
