years graduated:
BS AE 1987
MS AE 1988
PhD AE 1999 (Va Tech)
I now work at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA.
First jump: 1985
Most of my skydiving history (jumps, prior ratings, etc) is on http://members.cox.net/d.d.boyd/skydiving.htm
Some other notables:
I was the videographer for the Ga Tech team when they went to the Collegate National in 1989...Due to the cloud and weather conditions, the people running the Collegiate competition decided (on the spot) to use video-judging. This was the first video judging had ever been used at the collegiate nationals -- and, I was on the first load and videoed the first team.
From 1986-1989, Chris Gay and I alternated as President, Vice President, and Quartermaster for the GT Club. I was in a group that jumped into the student center field (where the fountain is now). I was also in the group that jumped into the football stadium for the 1989 opening home football game -- I carried in the flag on that jump.
